What's New

Graduate Degree Programs

This year UCF has three new doctoral programs that are scheduled to begin soon, if approved:

• Doctor of Philosophy in Chemistry
• Doctor of Philosophy in Nursing
• Doctor of Philosophy in Conservation Biology, approved by the Florida Board of Governors, will start in Fall 2004

Three new master's programs are available now or soon:

• Master of Fine Arts in Computer Art and Design, scheduled to begin in Fall 2004
• Master of Science in Forensic Science began in Spring 2004. For information about this new program, please see the Forensic Science track in the Master of Science in Industrial Chemistry program. Soon it will be listed separately as a degree program.
• Master of Science in Liberal Studies

Four new master's tracks were created in the following programs:

• Rhetoric and Composition in M.A. in English
• International Studies in M.A. in Political Science
• Combined track in Political Analysis and Public Policy in M.A. in Political Science
• VLSI Design in M.S.E.E. in Electrical Engineering

Graduate Certificate Programs

UCF has six new graduate certificate programs:

• Career Counseling
• ESOL Endorsement K-12
• Gifted Education
• Reading Education
• School Social Work
• Urban Education

Doctoral Fellowships

UCF offers two prestigious doctoral fellowship programs—Trustees Doctoral Fellowships and Presidential Doctoral Fellowships. The Trustees Doctoral Fellowships provide an $18,000 fellowship and tuition assistance in the first and second years to support the most qualified applicants to UCF. The Presidential Doctoral Fellowships provide a $17,000 fellowship or assistantship and tuition assistance for up to four years to qualified doctoral applicants to UCF. For complete details, go to Presidential Doctoral Fellowships.
