The Forensic Science MS is designed to meet the needs of both practicing professionals and full-time students who desire an advanced program of study in forensic science. The program offers three concentrations: Forensic Analysis, Forensic Biochemistry and Forensic Professional. The Forensic Analysis and Forensic Biochemistry concentrations require course work, original research and a thesis. The Forensic Professional concentration requires course work and a capstone project.

Summary:   
According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics 2014, a 19 percent growth rate is expected for forensic scientists through 2020. They also report that after the state of California, Florida has the second highest employment level.

Recent program partners include: U.S. Secret Service, UCF Police Department, Florida State Fire Marshal, Florida District Nine Medical Examiner Office and the National Center for Forensic Science.

The National Center for Forensic Science (NCFS) is internationally recognized and one of the University of Central Florida’s premier research centers with an 18-year history of research and partnership with the forensic science community.

The National Center for Forensic Science (NCFS) is internationally recognized and one of the University of Central Florida’s premier research centers with an 18-year history of research and partnership with the forensic science community. The Center’s strong research agenda focuses on the areas of Physical Evidence (ignitable liquids, explosives, etc.) and Biological Evidence (DNA, RNA, body fluids, etc.) and offers a wide array of hands-on research opportunities for students.

NCFS currently has more than 1.2 million dollars in active research grants in the areas of biological and physical evidence.
