Student Responses from Survey of Library Resources

UCF Libraries has conducted a survey of graduate students eliciting responses about library services, resources, and facilities. Library collections ranked as one of the areas most important to the graduate students. Collections Management and Collection Development Liaisons are evaluating requests to determine what purchases are feasible within the given budget. In addition, more online journals are being added as money permits. Of equal importance to those surveyed is the need for “separate graduate student space.” Beginning in January, additional rooms will be set aside exclusively for graduate students.

In response to the feedback received, the library has already initiated many improvements. These include increased access to software on campus, more efficient VPN/EZ Proxy sign-in, more study rooms, and additional graduate student workshops.

The Libraries appreciates all of the graduate students who participated in this survey. As discussions on library renovations begin, your comments and suggestions will be considered. Please continue to share your ideas about the library through their Facebook, the suggestion box, and the public services desk. Further comments and responses from the library can be found in the 2012 UCF Libraries Graduate Student Survey final report.
