Encouranging Students to Utilize Services

Andrea Withington“UCF is a dynamic, progressive institution and its heart and soul are the people,” states Andrea Withington, Executive Director of Graduate Affairs in the College of Education and Human Performance. Throughout her career, Withington has worked with students in many capacities from placing international students in language schools and universities to working in development and fundraising. She has been with the College of Education and Human Performance for over 10 years now, and one of the aspects she loves most about her position is seeing so many undergraduate students return to UCF to earn master's and doctoral degrees. “It is so energizing that they choose to come back for our faculty and our programs,” she explains. Withington enjoys learning from students why they choose UCF for graduate school, guiding them to the programs best suited for their professional needs, and implementing strategies to ease their transition into graduate school and make their graduate experience a positive one.

Withington earned her BS in Psychology at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas and her master’s degree in International Education at The George Washington University in Washington, D.C. She has studied in Paris and canoed the Rio Grande: “This is why I encourage students to take full advantage of resources, faculty, social networks, internships, scholarships, travel, student organizations, and leadership opportunities while they’re enrolled in school, so that they get the very most out of their time here at UCF.”
