Inaugural ATHENA Fellowship Recipient, Stephanie Bolyard, Honored for Leadership

Congratulations Stephanie Bolyard, the first recipient of the ATHENA International Emerging Women Leader Fellowship Award! Stephanie is completing her doctorate in environmental engineering at UCF.

The ATHENA fellowship, established through the UCF College of Graduate Studies, recognizes and rewards an outstanding female graduate student. ATHENA International promotes leadership in women and raises money to benefit female students at UCF through a local chapter. The award includes a $2,000 stipend. To qualify for the fellowship, applicants must be enrolled at UCF as a full-time or part-time female graduate student and have an undergraduate degree from a Florida university as well as having attended high school in the state of Florida. The applicant must be considered to be an emerging leader by faculty and colleagues in her field and must submit a personal statement, recommendations, and a resume. The foundation specifically looks for individuals who are role models within their communities.

ATHENA International celebrated the accomplishments of Stephanie Bolyard and other female leaders at their annual luncheon.  Details about the luncheon, held November 6, 2013 are available at
