Student Awarded Prestigious NASA Fellowship

Leigh Nash, a UCF Mechanical Engineering master's student has been awarded a prestigious fellowship from NASA. Nash recently became one of ten students around the country to win the Advanced STEM Training and Research Fellowship as part of NASA’s initiative to encourage underrepresented populations to become more involved in research with the space agency.

Nash who also holds a bachelor’s degree from UCF in aerospace engineering, will be working on new ways to test jet fuels. The Oviedo native chose UCF for her undergraduate and graduate program due to the university’s exceptional engineering programs and the established relationship between UCF and NASA. Nash’s dream is to work for the space agency one day and hopes this fellowship will provide an opportunity for that dream to become a reality.
