Electronic Thesis and Dissertation Formatting

The College of Graduate Studies Thesis and Dissertation Office provides much of the information thesis and dissertation students need through its Thesis and Dissertation (ETD) web page. The Thesis and Dissertation (ETD) page contains many subsections, but one of the first sections students should view is the Formatting the ETD section. At the Formatting the ETD section, students will find all the resources needed for proper document formatting, including step-by-step instruction files, training videos, sample documents, and more.

Many students become so concerned about the research and writing of a thesis or dissertation that document formatting is often neglected until the end. This is a costly oversight, as equal attention should be paid to document formatting as research and writing. Documents that are formatted properly from the beginning often require fewer reviews and receive format approval much faster than those formatted after the writing is complete. Therefore, it is important that students visit the Formatting the ETD section as soon as they start the thesis or dissertation process.

For more information about thesis and dissertation formatting, or other policies and procedures, please contact the Thesis and Dissertation Office at editor@ucf.edu.
