College of Engineering and Computer Science Third Best in Nation for Hispanic Students
The University of Central Florida’s College of Engineering and Computer Science is now ranked as the third best in the nation for Hispanic students, according to Hispanic Business Magazine’s recent tally. UCF’s engineering program ranked eighth in 2005 and has since been steadily climbing to its current spot. The eighth rank is now held by the University of Florida, followed by Florida Atlantic University as ninth.
Ranking scores were based on questionnaires sent in by the schools, enrollments, the percentage of Hispanic faculty members, the number of programs that recruit Hispanic students, retention rates and student services.
“Diversity and inclusiveness are among our core values at UCF and in our college,” said Marwan Simaan, dean of the College of Engineering and Computer Science. “We are very proud for being recognized as a role model for diversity.”
