Description:

The UCF Optics and Photonics master's and doctoral program provides students with the highest quality education in optical science and engineering.

Students maybe engaged in research covering all aspects of optics and photonics including lasers, optical fibers, integrated photonics, nonlinear and quantum optics, and imaging, sensing and display. Students in the master’s program have a thesis, research report and non-thesis options, and may elect to specialize in an Optics Track or Photonics Track.

Over the years, the college has maintained a tradition of promoting growth in optics and photonics and a strong partnership with industry which includes over 60 industrial affiliates. Approximately $2 million of the $15 million received in external funding last year came from industry partners, a connection that gives our students experience and an advantage in seeking industry positions after they graduate.
